Alexander at 16 weeks

It takes a lot of silly faces to get this smile...but it is all worth it. Here Alex is 16 weeks (and probably 16 pounds). I just love those chubby cheeks.

Finally updated

OK...so I have been really bad about updating the blog. I have finally updated it and I have added a lot of pictures from all the events over the last 2 months. Some of which have already moved into older posts....so you will have to scroll through to find those. I'll try to do better.

The Mothers...May 25th

Here I am with my two sisters. We are all mothers now. It is going to be so much fun when we get all the kids together...4 boys and 1 girl (so far).

Hanging out at Auntie Debra's house

After Lucas was born, Alex and I hung out at Auntie Debra's house. Mom and Suzanne were also up visiting so it was a rather exciting week for Patrick having three other women in the house talking about hair and watching Oprah. It was great for all of us to be together...a rare occasion. I guess I was so busy having fun that these are the only two pictures that I have from the week. Hopefully, Sue, Deb or Mom got some good ones.

Alex has a baby cousin...May 16th

Alex's baby cousin, Lucas Jackson, was born on May 16th. So this is the little guy that Alex is going to get into to trouble with...
Here is the pround papa with his two sons...

And Grandma is so happy to be holding another baby...

And so are Auntie Suzanne and Auntie Peta.

A visit from the McDonalds...May 10th

Uncle Melvis drove G-G, Meaghan and Andrew up for a visit with Alex. Alex was on his best behavior and enjoyed meeting more family. Uncle Melvis and G-G loved to hold little Alex and enjoyed sharing stories of raising kids. It is very interesting how times have changed.

Auntie Bola and Auntie Ceci...May 3rd

Auntie Bola and Auntie Ceci came to visit Alex a few weeks ago. We had the best time. Alex loved it because he had so many people to cuddle with the whole weekend.

The Overalls Photoshoot...May 1st

I bought Alex a cute little outfit and decided to take pictures of him in it. Here are the best shots from our photo session. I think he looks handsome.

All Smiles...April 27th

Here is Alex around the end of April. I was finally able to catch him smiling. For those that have tried to photograph kids, you know how much of an accomplishment that is for me.

BTW...This picture was taken the day before our anniversary (April 28th)...Can you believe that it has been a year? Can you believe we forgot to take a picture of us celebrating? Can you believe we ate the year old cake?

Mommy and Alex...April 27th

After hours of trying to get a good photo of Alex and me, these are the best photos that I came up with...as you can tell Alex was not as interested in taking the photo as I was. I think we will be looking to get professional help on this one.

Visit from Uncle Pat...April 22nd

Uncle Pat came by to visit Alex one day. Alex was a little fussy that afternoon and Uncle Pat had to walk Alex around to calm him down. This was good practice for Uncle Pat because his new baby is coming soon.

Father and Son...April 19th

Alex loves to be with his daddy. They seem to be have whole conversations just by looking at each other. They truly have a bond like no other.

Visit from Grandma Erna and Cousin Brandon...March 29th

Grandma Erna and Cousin Brandon came to visit Alex a couple of months ago. Alex was just starting to show his little personality. The expression on his face is the same one that his daddy makes.

What is he thinking?

Here are just a few of Alex's expressions showing his playful and curious side. You have to wonder, what is this little guy thinking about.

Our Visit with the Etuks

Alex and Mayen kept their daddys busy during our visit. You can tell the daddys love every minute of it though.

There was a cry-free moment when we introduced Alex and Mayen...they are pals now...can't you tell?

The day was a little exhausting for little Alex. Here he is chillin with Mom and Dad.

While You Were Sleeping

Alex is much fun to watch...even while he is sleeping. These are our two favorite poses. We call them "No pictures please" (left) and "Power to the people" (top-right).

Grandpa and Grandma Sones visit with Alex

Grandpa and Grandma Sones came for a visit. Alex had plenty of time to bond with them. It was a wonderful time and Alex enjoyed getting spoiled by the grandparents.

Alexander at 1 week old

The little guy is 1 week old in this picture. He is doing great and doing all the things that babies do...eat, sleep, poop.

Alexander and Grandma Carlen

Grandma spent a week and a half helping to make sure that Alexander and I were well taken care of. We are so grateful that she took the time to cook, clean, reorganize and hang with us. It sure made our first week at home easier.

Time To Go Home

Alexander is all bundled up and ready to go home. This is first trip and he is buckled in tight for the car ride. By the look on his face, we are not sure he likes it. Don't worry Alex, you will be home soon.

Finally, A Chance to Sleep

It was a long day and now that Alex is born, mommy has a chance to rest. (back by popular demand)

Meeting Alexander for the first time

Daddy and Alexander meeting for the first time,
I wonder who is the most nervous of the two

Alexander mommy, mommy Alexander

What are you doing?!! Put me back, its cold out here

More Pictures of Alexander Linden DeRoy

Look at this face, isn't he wonderful

Alexander Has Arrived

Baby Alexander arrived February 19th 2008 at 2:18pm after 16.5 hours of labor. He weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces and measured 20.5 inches long. Yes, he is a big boy.

And you can tell his daddy is proud of him.

Wayne, Peta and the Belly

Briz and Shiria came over to help us take some maternity photos. Just in time too because Alex could be here any day now. Here are two of my favorite photos.

The Room

Daddy Wayne did an amazing job putting the room together as Mommy Peta envisioned it. As you may have guessed, we have decided to name him Alexander. All the room needs now is the glider and the baby.

The Baby Shower 2

Thank you to Abbi, Julie and Laura for organizing a baby shower for me at work. They really surprised me. It was a fun time and I heard all about what to expect after the baby is born.

The Baby Shower 1

Debra hosted a baby shower for me which was great. A few friends came by to celebrate with me. We had a great time playing games and eating all of the good food that Debra prepared. Hopefully soon she will share all those recipes. Mommy to be is hungry.

Suzanne made a special contribution to the shower also. Her diaper cake was the centerpiece at the occasion. It is so pretty...I don't know if I want to take it apart.

The Anticipation

Can you see him? I can never really see anything in these ultrasound images and then at this appointment I saw him. I was so excited to see his little face. It is so amazing. I can't wait to hold him.
